A top regional workforce-related priority was elevating professional development and training opportunities.
Areas of focus include leadership and management skills, mental health, substance abuse, LGBTQIA+, racial bias/sensitivity, de-escalation, and diversity and inclusion. Specific populations such as community health workers, students, veterans, and the re-entry populations were discussed as being capable but underutilized in the workforce due to lack of support and appropriate training. Opportunities for growth and professional development were also recognized as key features in both recruitment and retention, as well as one of the top wish list priorities.
Please share your experience and any professional development and training opportunities identified.
